Prolific actor, writer, director, and producer Jaime Gomez has been a working professional in the entertainment industry for over twenty-five years. A Los Angeles native, Gomez grew up under the California sunshine and has been featured in numerous notable blockbuster films, including Clear and Present Danger, Crimson Tide, Training Day, and La Carpa (produced by American Playhouse), which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.
Additionally, he starred in the award-winning CBS after-school special Gang. For five seasons, Gomez portrayed Inspector Evan Cortez on the CBS hit television series Nash Bridges, earning three Bravo Award nominations. His extensive television credits include roles in CBS’s SWAT, NCIS: Los Angeles, ABC’s The Rookie, TNT’s Rizzoli & Isles, the Fox drama 24, and the CBS hits Cold Case, CSI: Miami, and CSI. In 2024, Gomez guest-starred on Lone Star 911 alongside Rob Lowe and The Rookie with Nathan Fillion.
His upcoming projects include the True Crime Docudrama DECODED: “And the ZODIAC is…” The feature films Lujack and the Angel and GUS, and the series ’The Mission, The Code, and Billy’s Dance. With extensive experience in front of and behind the camera, Gomez has worked in both studio and indie productions alongside A-list talent. He was a guest lecturer for the UCLA Master’s Program.
His feature film credits include 16 to Life, which won the Audience Award for Best Film at the Method Fest International Film Festival and earned Gomez a nomination for Best Breakout Performance, and the indie hit Gabriela, a record-breaking independent production that grossed over 2.3m with a 60k budget. With exciting developments surrounding Gomez’s True Crime Series, DECODED: And the Zodiac is… Sandbar Films Studios is building the foundation for direct-to-consumer publicity, merchandise sales, and audience engagement for future projects.
Gomez enjoys a strong following in the LatinX community, representing over 70 million Americans with more than $2 billion in annual box office revenue. Recognizing this underserved market’s hunger for quality American content, Sandbar Films aims to cater to this audience without sacrificing crossover appeal. Gomez is collaborating with leading Latino organizations, including LULAC, MALDEF, and UNIDOS, all of which have pledged support for his upcoming projects and will provide valuable outlets for Sandbar’s grass roots engagement.
